It Takes Two

Hooray - we woke up to sunshine and warmer temperatures. We decided to visit downtown Fairbanks today and started at the visitor center which has some nice displays. As we were leaving we saw a truck with segways and on the spot, took a tour. This is our fourth time riding segways and we really enjoy them. Our guide, Trina, was very knowledgable about the city and we rode through the antler arch at Golden Heart Park and along the Chena River. We saw several statues and memorials and took our picture at the sign proclaiming the end of the Alaska Highway. Fairbanks and Delta Junction argue over which is really the end of the highway, so we take our picture at both. After the tour we had lunch at Soapy Smith's and then visited the Ice Museum. They had a great movie about the annual ice sculpting competition held each March. We saw some nice ice sculptures and the artist in residence carved a flower in a block of ice right before our eyes.
