This Tom Lehrer song is about "siesta time" and that's what these ducks were doing. Jeff and I did chores today - laundry and grocery shopping. We went out to lunch and sat on a deck overlooking the Chena River. Besides the food being very good, (I had fresh, not canned, salmon salad on a croissant) we were entertained by this mama Mallard and her ducklings. They romped along the edge of the river, then swam off. Later we found them snoozing on the riverbank. Mama was trying to nap with the three babies tucked under her, but that didn't last long. The ducklings are so cute, all yellow fuzz and the eye stripe just like mom.
