Staying out in the woods in Teslin Lake and Watson Lake, Yukon Territory. We are now backtracking south on the Alaska Highway. We passed through both these towns on the way north, but stayed in different campgrounds. The scenery is still spectacular and Jeff and Ziggy enjoyed an early morning stroll before leaving Teslin Lake. This is a cozy campground and our group had a sporting competition. Our boss has a game that we have called "Hillbilly Golf" and it's lots of fun. Sort of like horseshoes, but you pitch two balls connected by a rope. The goal posts have three rungs and you must wrap the rope around a rung to get points. This competition involved everyone on the trek and went on for hours. We all brought chairs and sat along the side - ate snacks and cheered, laughed and had great fun watching and playing. Next day we stopped along the road to admire the mountains, lakes and wildflowers. This was bingo night and Jeff was the caller. We had lots of prizes and each winner could pick a prize or steal one from someone else. It got a little out of control and we all enjoyed ourselves. The bottom photo is the restaurant at the Watson Lake campground where I had delicious grilled salmon. Later that night our friends Carol and Bill arrived after having their RV towed and repaired. They had spent a few nights in Tok and were so happy to rejoin the group and we are so thankful they are safely back with us. Oh, life is good and a few more days to go on this trek.
