This is "Dog Bear" and he is a big grizzly who rules the area. The rangers said when he shows up to fish the other bears leave. In fact, the black bears don't show up at all since the grizzlies are here.I got up early today and drove over to Fish Creek before the sun came up and a great time to see bears eat breakfast. Bears pack in the food all summer to prepare for hibernation. Dog Bear fished and walked around and finally left. Here's a photo of the chum salmon that he likes to eat. The creek is very shallow and clear so it's easy to catch a fish.
