Corner of the Sky
I've always loved this song from Pippin and Montana is certainly Big Sky Country. The scenery is amazing and it is so vast. You can see forever on a clear day. Hey wait, I think that's another song title. We entered Wyoming and the landscape changed to hills and then rocky cliffs with lots more trees and green grass. Still saw cattle grazing and passed a few, dreaded trucks loaded with cows heading somewhere I don't want to think about. I drove most of the afternoon and the temperature was in the 90's. What a change for us in the last few days. We have the A/C on while driving. We cut across the northeast corner of Wyoming and just before entering South Dakota we saw Devils Tower from the highway. This national monument is a 1267' granite monolith and popular with climbers. Would have loved to stop, but we still had miles to go. Finally got to Deadwood where we'll spend tonight and tomorrow.
