We sadly leave Hyder and set out to finish the Cassiar Highway. More magnificent scenery and saw three black bears along the road. The first one ran away, but the second photo shows a bear right next to our RV and still busy eating the flowers. The third photo was a big black bear and he walked right by and completely ignored me hanging out the window and snapping his profile. We spent the night in Smithers, British Columbia which is on Route 16, the Yellowhead Highway. It's a nice, two lane paved road and this means our trip is near its end. We stopped at a car wash and removed grime from the RV and car. Later we went into town which is adorable and did some window shopping. The town has an alpine theme and is quite vibrant with lots of "mom and pop" stores. They told us that they voted to keep WalMart out keep the downtown strong. We had dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant and I had one of the best meals ever.
