I Can See For Miles and Miles
We awoke to a sunny day in Iskut on the Cassiar Highway. Here's a look at our site and the campground. Every travel morning we make coffee and have a sign out sheet for the guests as you see on the table. That way we know that everyone is gone and we are all set to leave. We are set up at 6 am and everyone should go by 9 am. The road is much better here except for two one-lane bridges that have no signage or warning. One time we had to slam on our brakes as a car approached from the other side and wasn't going to stop. Again the scenery is beyond what words can describe and the air smells so fresh. We stopped for a break and saw these small red berries. Later I found that they are an Alaskan elderberry and toxic. Apparently the bears will eat them when they need a laxative.
