A look at the Hebrew section of Mt. Moriah cemetery. Some of the earliest Deadwood settlers were Jewish merchants. Mr. Franklin (formerly Finkelstein)was the richest man in town, built the largest house and served as mayor. His son (Fink) was also mayor. Many of the buildings in town have Jewish names inscribed on the lintel. Goldberg's tee shirts and casino was originally a general store.
