Taps

Top photo is the military cemetery and next is a government building with the flag at half mast. This is one of four (US) places where the flag can fly at half mast because they have an unknown soldier buried there. Theirs is from the War of 1812. The other cemteries are Arlington, Gettysburg and The Punch Bowl. A fifth cemetery is at Normandy in France. Jeff and I have been lucky enough to have visited all of these special resting places. A picturesque lighthouse in the harbor. The oldest lilac tree on Mackinac and a typical street. BTW it is pronounced Mak-in-aw.
