Started off with another beautiful day. It is Tuesday, so we head off to the Tuesday Market. It is jam packed and we wander among the vendors selling food, crafts, books, coffee, baked goods and much more. Today we stay for the lecture which is an expat who spoke on weather in Boquete. He is a former psychologist who now grows coffee and has installed a weather station which tracks wind, rain, and more for the past 10 years. He discussed weather trends and it was most interesting. Below the photo shows the crowd at the lecture .
Afterwards we walked back towards town crossing the bridge that overlooks the flower gardens.
A few items to get at the supermarket and a short walk to a place selling fried chicken which we took home for lunch.
We walked through the fruit and vegetable stalls and into the Central Park.
Here in the park is a beautiful fountain with columns for each of the districts in Boquete Province.
After lunch we sat outside on our terrace. We put out fresh water, banana and orange sections for the birds. A few were brave and came for the treats even though we were sitting there. A little Rufous-collared Sparrow stepped into the water tumbler and took a bath making us convulse with laughter.
Tonight we went to a jam at Mike's Grill, an introduction to the Jazz Festival. Andy Eger, a blues and jazz musician originally from Switzerland, performed. He is a great guitarist and incredible on the harmonica. We felt like we were back in the 60's enjoying the music.
