That's Amore

<

I'm writing today from Talkeetna a quirky little town between Denali Park and Anchorage. This could be the model for the TV show Northern Exposure. We got up real early and left the campground before 6am. We stopped for giant cinnamon buns and later rested at a nice viewpoint where you can see Denali on a clear day. Today was not one of them, but at least it didn't rain.

We arrived before noon and got everything settled and this afternoon we walked to the main street which has little gift shops and cafes. There's a road house which has excellent baked goods and a museum with lots of old dusty stuff and a great display of the topography of Denali, along with stories and photos of people who have climbed and reached the summit.

Jeff and I had dinner at Mile High Pizza Pie where we had eaten last year and thought it pretty good. We had the same waitress this year - she's from the Pittsburgh area as are the owners. Walked back to the campround and spent a quiet evening doing Sudoku and writing this blog.
