Here Comes the Sun

Saturday is a day to rest at Liard Hot Springs. It turns out to be slightly sunny which is better than the expected rain and we walk across the highway to the springs at 10:30am. This is a delightful oasis of hot water and beautiful foliage. When we visited last June there were orchids and wildflowers everywhere, but we are settling for a dip in the sulfur pond.

The water seems hotter this year, but it works wonder on the cricks in my neck. There is a long boardwalk from the parking area to the springs and walking along there are geese and ducks in the distant ponds. A few tiny flowers are starting to bloom and the experience is delightful. Later that afternoon I walked back just for the exercise and views. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and walking Ziggy. We tried another camp fire for the evening, but it rained and we retired early.
