Rocky Mountain High

Got up and on the road just after 6am. It is still windy, but a beautiful drive through mountain passes with views of the snow capped Rockies. Lots of rivers and streams and we saw two moose along the highway. Our trip today was 280 miles and we are camped in Fort Nelson. Most of these little towns were originally small airports or support towns as the highway was built. This town has a nice shopping area, restaurants and other services.
Our campground is just north of town with spacious sites and a restaurant. Next door is an interesting museum which visited. They have antique cars, old telephones, area memorabilia and display cases with taxidermy animals. There is also a trappers cabin and a few old houses which are furnished as they were in the early 1900s.

One of our jobs is to assign the spaces in the campgrounds and get all the guests to the right place. We also stop at the Visitor Centers and get brochures and hand them out. So this takes some time and after that we cooked dinner and took a walk with Ziggy. She has made some friends and one couple even purchased dog biscuits for Ziggy and another pooch named Moose.

Jeff and I are watching the old movie Shogun on DVD and now it is 10:30 and I must get to bed so I can get up and moving at the crack of dawn.
