It's a Beautiful Morning

Woke today to a gorgeous morning and Ziggy and I took a long walk. As we passed in front of the hotels a fox darted a few yards in front of us. He was black with a white tip on his tail and holding some type of small animal in his mouth. Luckily Ziggy missed it all or she would have gone nuts.

We drove out into the park again and were able to see more of Mt. McKinley (Denali). It was quite clear with a row of clouds obscuring the middle. We stopped at the Visitor's Center and saw their terrific movie and went to the bookstore for a little shopping.

In the afternoon we joined two other couples for a jet boat ride on the Nenana River. It was a lot of fun as the boat twisted and turned in the shallow river. They took us to a trapper's cabin where we saw some pelts and learned about trapping and surviving the wilderness. We got to pan for gold and found a few flakes. After the ride we all went to a fish 'n chips place for some good halibut and sweet potato fries.
