The Long and Winding Road

Today is laundry day and they have a nice laundromat on the premises. I did two loads and then walked on the beach. Saw some shore birds and an old tower and picked a few colorful stones.

About one we took off to the hills (literally) to visit the town of Ronda. The ride took abut an hour and a half because the road climbed and twisted and turned to the mountain top and finally we saw this town of 40,000 people nestled in the distance. It is an amazing sight and such a cute place. It has the first bullfighting ring in Spain and we visited. I stood in the center of the ring and imagined everyone shouting Ole!

The main attraction here is the new and old bridge scanning a very deep gorge that runs through the center of the town. The new bridge was built in the 1400's. So much to see and we wanted to head back before sunset so we walked a little and then got back in the car and Jeff drove us home safely.
