The Long and Winding Road

A beautiful, sunny day and not too hot seemed perfect to explore the Kancamagus Highway. We decided to do this before the weekend crowds descended on the area and had a terrific day. The road is 34.5 miles from Lincoln to Conway and climbs to 3,000 feet. It is a National Scenic Byway and certainly beautiful. Along the way are hiking trails, scenic viewpoints and swimming holes.

Our first stop was a scenic view looking across to several mountains. Next we went to Sabbaday Falls and took the easy path and steps to the top of the falls. No swimming allowed here.
