Beautiful Vermont, the Green Mountain State. We are staying in a delightful campground that is expansive lawns of bright, green grass. So quiet and restful. We awoke to a sunny day and headed north to the tiny town of Waterbury. The big attraction is the original Ben & Jerry's plant where they still make pints of ice cream and do factory tours. We were shocked to find the parking lot overflowing, but got on a tour within a half hour. The facility is spotless and full of ice cream and company memorabilia. Our guide Zach told corny cow jokes and showed us how they make and package pints of ice cream and ended with a free sampling of double caramel chunk which was delicious. Of course there is a gift shop and ice cream bar where you can try any of their fifty current flavors including the new Fro Yo Greek Yoghurts.
The last photo is the State House in Montpelier where we stopped for a photo op on the way home.
