Onward to Seattle is our battle cry today. We leave just after 9:00am and head south on Route 1 to the border. We decided to cross at the Peace Park and spent two hours in line waiting for customs at the US/Canadian border. After lunch at a burger and salad restaurant we spent a few more hours in bumper to bumper traffic near Seattle. Great day!
We did try to take a scenic drive near Squamish which goes along the coast with views of the San Juan Islands. After we got on the road we saw signs that the weight limit was less than we weigh. We stopped at a gallery to ask about the road and the owner told me not to proceed as the road is narrow and too curvy for an RV. So much for that idea. We did have some great views of the Cascade and Olympic mountains as well as Mt. Rainier.
We finally got to the campground and collapsed. Tomorrow we have reservations to do a city tour and they will pick us up here and bring us home later. On Sunday we have a brunch date at the Space Needle and there are lots of other things we hope to see on our short visit.
Good news is that we added another state to our map. Our first time RVing in Washington and we added Vancouver Island too.
