Captain Jack

The Museum of Flight is a fantasyland for guys. They were all going around with big smiles on their faces. The museum is just minutes from our campground and we spent the afternoon there looking at the exhibits on WWII and actual aircraft used in the war. We also visited a huge gallery with all kinds of military and commercial planes. Jeff got to sit in the cockpit of some kind of fighter and also tried to land a space shuttle in a simulator.
They had exhibits on the space program and old film clips of the first space ventures which I remember watching in school - live as it was happening.
We had a great afternoon and then stopped for dinner at Dave's Diner where we had a pleasant, light dinner with good pies for dessert. Back at the campground we sat outside enjoying the night air. A couple walked up who saw our South Carolina license plates and turns out they live in Sun City too. We had a nice chat and it reminded me how long we've been away and how much I miss our home.
