Whale of a Tale

Today's title is from the 1950's movie version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Yes, just swam in the Pacific with Jeff. We are in Cordoba, Panama at an all inclusive resort. Started out in Panama City and had an orientation session right after breakfast. We each got a great goodie tote bag with lots of cookies, crackers, fruit and drinks. Then we boarded a comfy bus and headed west. As we rode along the canal we saw two whales right near the city. Whales pass by here twice a year and watching them is a major thing to do. Rode for a while and stopped for lunch and tour at a gated community near Coronado. Beautiful, new high rise condos on the beach. Lunch at a nice restaurant and a stop at a store resembling Costco. They have white tuna, Hellman's mayonnaise and lots of pasta. All the same products as in the US.

Now we have arrived at the Bijao Resort and after a nice Miami Vice (one of my fav drinks) we hit the beach for a swim and lounging. The DJ was spraying the kids with suds by the pool. So much fun. We enjoyed the warm water and collected purple shells on the beach.

We had two speakers before dinner talking about their life here. Then a delicious dinner with a great salad bar, sweet potato soup and fabulous sea bass in a lime sauce with mashed potatoes. Afterwards we had a drink at a piano bar with a good pianist.
