Having a Party

Today will be another Purim celebration on the base. Breakfast was more eggs and farina cereal, but no spoons. I did find a vanilla pudding to eat. This morning we get volunteer epaulets to wear on our shirts.

Back to work and our group are very friendly and getting talkative. I am cleaning radios with my toothbrush and spray can of something smelly. I remove old labels with a screwdriver and then apply silicone covering and buff. It now takes about 15 minutes to do each depending on the size of the equipment. A funny aside is that the Israelis keep on "borrowing" our supplies and never return anything. I have gotten good at snatching things back.

During the day we have a morning break, lunch  and afternoon break. At morning break we have a Purim party with snacks and drinks arranged in the hall. Today we have a great lunch. Schnitzel with French fries and lots of salads including eggplant. They also have yesterday's hot dogs cut up with an egg stuffing. And today they have sauerkraut! Also olives and cut up beets.

After work we rest and then before 6:00 we have a Purim party for the whole work force. Most come in costumes and some of the girls are quite risqué. The food is not great, more eggs and salad with no dressing. There is a platter of spaghetti and an entire table of breads. I had a slice of Italian bread and a vanilla pudding. Very nutritious. Afterwards we went into the large dining room and had a presentation. They did a great job with funny awards with photos and slides to keep us entertained. It was a nice evening. The volunteers were called up to show off our costumes.

This last photo is very funny.we have a severe shortage of toilet paper in the dorm and have run out of paper toweling that we use for our work. Lo and behold, these two guys show up wrapped in toilet paper, paper toweling and tape. When we kidded them about their costumes they offered to give back the paper!

Back at the dorm we got ready for bed. My roomies had a gab session and we showed photos of our families and pets. Real nice.
