I am listening to Donovan sing Colours and enjoying Pandora and their terrific music. Found some folk stations and also Paul Simon radio with all my favorite tunes. They even have a Leonard Bernstein station - I am in heaven. We had off on Wednesday and Thursday and did two road trips. First day we drove south to Glens Falls, just below Lake George, and went to the movies. We saw Men in Black III and loved it! Even got to see it in 3D. Then we did major grocery shopping in the huge Price Chopper and drove home before everything melted. It's almost an hour ride.
On Wednesday we did laundry, and oh, I miss my washer and dryer in my house. Then we headed north to explore. We drove up the Northway and then to Route 9 through some small towns. The top photo is the town hall in Elizabethtown. It is a cute place and the county seat. The town hall was formerly a Baptist church with two gorgeous and very old stained glass windows in front. Heading further north we had our minds blown when we saw a sign on the side of a barn saying "Burlington Bristol Bridge." That is a blast from our past and the bridge connects Burlington, NJ and Bristol, PA. We had been using it when it cost $.25 and later was over a dollar. A great memory. Next we came across a sculpture garden in a farmer's field. Most of the pieces were made from old farm equipment. In the back was a replica of the last supper complete with food. Well worth the walk around the area. We finally got to Plattsburgh and great views of Lake Champlain and Vermont. Lots of marinas and beautiful houses along the water. Never got into town, but did visit Staples and checked out locations for WalMart and Sam's for future visits.
