Today we got a new addition to our family. We adopted a puppy from Maranatha Farms and he is already bringing much joy to our lives. Diego was rescued from a "kill shelter" in North Carolina and has been at Maranatha for two months. Last Saturday Jeff saw him at Petco and fell in love. He called me to come over and I agreed that he is adorable. We visited him at the farm on Sunday and decided to adopt him. We brought him home today and he is really a good boy. We believe he is a flat coated retriever mix and already impressing us with his good behavior and cute antics.
We have renamed him Sirius Black. All Harry Potter fans know who this is, but for the others, Sirius is Harry's godfather and can turn himself into a black dog. Sirius is also the dog star in the heavens. Our little Sirius is already a star to us.
Update: Sirius went to the vet for a wellness check and they believe he is 7 months old and may not get much larger. We are relieved!
